Mission trip to Romania

hey ya’ll (all 2 or 3 of you, maybe …) just wanted to let you all know that I will be heading off to Romania on Friday for an OCF Real Break mission trip, and will be returning on the 21st. If you don’t know, Real Break trips are mission trips offered over spring breaks for college students (and the occasional older head like me). We will be working at the Center for Social Integration which is an orphanage for boys over 18. The founder grew up in an orphanage in Romania and had to leave at 18 and realized that that was no life, so he has developed this center to help those who would otherwise be out on the streets. We will also be working at a school for blind children — playing with them, teaching them English, etc.

We also have the blessing to visit Sambaata Monastery for Liturgy on Sunday, and to visit Bran Castle, which was owned by  Princess Ileana, who eventually became Mother Alexandra of the the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguraiton in Ellwood City, PA (awesome monastery!).

We also have a long layover in Rome and will be able to go out into the city — im pushing fo a visit to the Vatican!

Please pray for me (Jesse) and Ksenia, Fr. Kevin, Veronica, Clara, Paul, Matt, and everyone else who is going, and for those we will be serving. Thank you very much and God bless!
